In quest of acceptance

Paint self
a pleasant pink
And then take on
a raging red
then orgy orange and
a pale yellow
caressing crimson to
a rich purple

But I am destined to be marooned
as I fail to catch your fancy beyond
a few glances

I play the clown
then for effect
add some occasional frowns
Monkeying around to grab
the exclusivity - that you so much hate
to offer...

Lost in the fairy tale mood
I take on the mermaid look
writhe in the seams
of my dreamy ends...
I struggle but the water
levels are rising
I lose you to the earthy grounds
and drown in my own existence...

alright.....a riot of colours.....
but the whites are missing....
does the colour white evoke any emotion other than " Peace" well we will find out....

Colours...fascinating isnt it...imagine a world without colours...what would it be like....will that leave only black and white to survive......i wonder what it is to be colourless........iam sure there is a colour for everything....

In this smoking world i sometimes think it so difficult to spot the right colour....our colours has also been polluted.....

Thoughts i wonder what colour are they....maybe white..violet...blue.......well i guess iam being biased...let me not colour my thoughts....i will leave it alone for now ...but yeah the thought of painting my thoughts strikes me at times....

In a quest of acceptance...the colours were experienced...the clown was donned....the mermaid song was sung....but the quest still remains...the wise man says "in acceptance the quest never ends...its just a begining of a another quest"......
Thou quest shall be realised...but let the mermaid songs be heard for ever......

Hey....interesting stuff...let the the colours splash..always...

Chow....have fun

ya u r right... probably, its one of those passing phases... and ya i love splash dances too... the word 'splash' has such an effect na... its so visual in its sound...

sad songs are touching to the listener.. what abt the singer/ the one going thru the experience.... but actually sorrow gives a sense of ownership... we own our secret sorrows... na?

the mermaid swishing past some real wild creatures now... so i am helping her get thru... will write about it then ;-)

chalo take care...
keep writing...(and that includes both PL, MV and IP)... Okie?

Dear dusky hues,
I scrolled through the entire page, thinking I will read the poetry when I have some time to let the words dance around my brain and ponder over the meaning and then my eyes rested on "in quest of acceptance" and I read it first. And so glad to have finally read your poems :)

I jumped to the comment form on reading the poem and after the comments I read the poem again.

It was a revelation,it was so YOU. I have always associated bright colours and happiness with you and at a first glance, that is what the world sees.

Sad and dreamy, the poem makes you feel the lament expressed. The colours aren't happy here ,the intention is to attract but what happens when it does not cause the intended effect. I get a sense of pathos and I'm no literature student to say anymore and make a fool of myself (probably already have), so will have to probe deeper into mind to come up with better words to do justice to your work.

Will keep coming back for more. Thank you.
